"We've been able to maintain much of our small-town feel in the area even while we're part of a major metropolitan area," says Bradenton Ward 4 Councilman Bemis Smith.

Bradenton is a city located in Manatee County, Florida and was discovered by Hernando De Soto at Shaw's Point in 1539. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 49,504. It is the county seat of Manatee County.GR6

Bradenton is served by the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in Sarasota, Florida and is connected to St. Petersburg, Florida by the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The city is approximately 40 minutes from Tampa.
